2021 COVID PRECAUTIONS AND RACE DAY MODIFICATIONS
We're excited to resume an in-person event this year and want to outline several unique changes to this year's race to ensure the safety and comfort of all registrants, volunteers, vendors, and spectators.
- Masking: Please be aware of the current state mandate and Benton County health order regarding masking that will be adhered to during the event. To this end, we are requiring that participants ages 5 and older for the Fall Festival Run 10k, 5k, and 1k events wear masks where a physical distance of 6 feet cannot be maintained. Exemptions to this order exclude "individuals practicing or playing a sport at any level" so you will not be required to wear your face covering during the race, however participants will be required to wear a face covering throughout the vendor area, while assembled in the start/finish area, or otherwise not competing in any event (spectators). We will have a limited supply of face masks on hand at the event for those who do not have one. HOTV buffs will also be available for purchase at the HOTV booth.
-Water: This year's race will be cupless and there will NOT be water aid stations on the course. Runners should expect to be reliant on their own carried water bottle, bladder, etc. on course. Water fill stations will be provided at the start/finish area for general use. Please prepare accordingly.
-Rolling Start: To provide physical separation at the start of the race, we will be implementing a 5-10 minute rolling start window. All race bibs will have electronic timing chips and individual times will be tracked when a runner crosses a timing mat. Runners will be asked to approach and cross the start line as they are comfortable and as crowding allows.
-Virtual Option: We are offering registrants the option to select a virtual 5k/10k for this year's race. Results will be self submitted and these results will not be eligible for division placements since they will not be verified chip timing results. If you'd like to transfer your registration to the virtual event, please send an email to [email protected] with your first and last name and 5k or 10k event preference.
